Today, at the Slobodan Škerović High School, a presentation was held about the Capital City’s candidacy for the title of European Youth Capital 2028.

The event was opened by the President of the Capital City Assembly, Dr. Jelena Borovinić Bojović, who emphasized on this occasion that Podgorica recognizes young people as the greatest potential for its development. She highlighted that their energy, creativity, and ideas are what will shape our city in the years to come, and that this candidacy is an opportunity to create an environment in which young people play a key role.

The project presentation was delivered by representatives of the Capital City, Danilo Vučinić and Sara Nikčević, as well as Dušan Brajović on behalf of the Union of High School Students of Montenegro.

This was an opportunity to present to high school students the concept, goals, and strategic importance of the EYC candidacy, as well as to introduce them to the mechanisms of participation in the process of its creation.

Through an interactive quiz, young people had the chance to test their knowledge and learn more about the importance of the candidacy and youth policy. On this occasion, symbolic prizes were also awarded.

Special attention was given to discussions with young people within the four thematic areas on which the EYC candidacy is based. Through this exchange, we gathered numerous creative and useful suggestions that will improve the application itself.

We continue to lead this process together with young people as our most reliable partners, believing in the vision that they are the ones who create the city!
