From September 29 to 30, representatives of the Youth Office, Danilo Vučinić and Ksenija Borilović, participated in a study visit to Ljubljana as part of the continuation of the “Europe Goes Local” project, in which the Youth Office has been actively engaged since 2022.
This time, the meetings focused on strengthening the role of municipalities in European programs such as Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps, increasing youth participation in local-level youth activities, as well as exchanging good practices and mechanisms from other European countries.
During the stay in Ljubljana, the key segments included:
- examples of the use of the Erasmus+ program by the municipalities of Rijeka and Medulin,
- presentation of the Europe Goes Local initiative at the European and regional levels and its importance for municipalities,
- insights into the Youth Strategy and the work of the City of Ljubljana Youth Office,
- a visit to the Youth Centre “Mladi zmaji” Golovec,
- networking sessions, exchange, and planning of future activities.
With the provided mentoring support, the upcoming period will be marked by intensive work on developing and implementing the identified needs of member municipalities, as well as creating opportunities for new networking, study visits, and finding partners to enhance participation in European youth programs.
The Europe Goes Local project will provide the Capital City with all the necessary support in the field of youth and youth policy until the end of 2027
