“Socrates” Section Visits the Capital City

Organized by the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and the Youth Office, ninth-grade students of the “Vladimir Nazor” Elementary School, members of the “Socrates” section, together with their teacher Miloš Brnović, visited the Capital City. The visit began at the monument to Duke Marko Miljanov, a symbol of virtue that endures through time. This was especially fitting, as our young fellow citizens are gathered in a section named “Socrates,” studying virtue as a constant and a guiding light carried by the best among us.

The students visited the Administrative Building, where they learned about the building itself, its architecture, and the changes it has undergone from its construction in 1930 to the present day. Deputy Mayor Boris Spalević introduced them to the functioning and competencies of the Capital City, and they also became familiar with the tasks and responsibilities of the Office of the Chief City Architect. They visited the service hall, where they learned about the services provided to citizens at this location.

In the plenary hall of the Assembly of the Capital City, Secretary Slađana Anđušić introduced them to the role of the Assembly, after which they learned about the work of the Information Systems Service and the digital tools developed by this service, led by Head Nikola Mićunović.

It was our pleasure, on the eve of Podgorica Day, to host its most important residents—the children of Podgorica.
