As part of Youth Week, the City of Podgorica’s Office for Youth organised the “Connecting Young People with Youth Organisations” activity, bringing together representatives of NGO Centre for Youth Education, NGO ADP “Zid”, NGO Network for Youth Activism of Montenegro, and WeBalkans – European Young Ambassadors.
During the event, the organisations presented their work, ongoing activities and projects, as well as concrete opportunities for young people to get involved in their programmes, initiatives, volunteering activities and other forms of youth engagement.
The meeting provided an opportunity for networking, exchange of experiences and good practices, as well as discussion on the importance of more active youth involvement in the design and implementation of youth initiatives.
A particular focus was placed on the internationalisation of youth policies and programmes, connecting young people and organisations with partners from other European countries, as well as the opportunities that European networks and programmes offer to young people from Podgorica.
Looking ahead to 2028, when Podgorica will hold the title of European Youth Capital, participants also discussed how stronger connections between the local youth sector and European partners, youth exchanges and joint initiatives can further strengthen Podgorica’s European identity and create new opportunities for young people.
The activity was organised as part of Youth Week, marking International Youth Day – 12 August.
