New Connections and the Exchange of European Practices for Stronger Youth Infrastructure

The Office for Youth of the Capital City held a meeting with the Brussels-based youth organisation Urban Foxes, with the aim of learning about good practices at the European Union level in the areas of mapping spaces for young people, adapting them to their needs, and working directly with young people to develop higher-quality youth infrastructure.

A particular focus of the discussion was placed on models that actively involve young people in assessing and creating spaces that respond to their needs, as well as on opportunities to strengthen the competencies of public officials and other stakeholders working with young people.

Urban Foxes has been active in Brussels for many years in the field of youth work and the development of youth-friendly spaces. They have also gained experience through cooperation with Ghent and Tromsø as part of the implementation of the European Youth Capital title. Their work and innovative approaches have also been recognised by Europe Goes Local as examples of good practice in local youth work.

The meeting represents an important step towards establishing contacts and connecting the Office for Youth with organisations that have concrete European experience, particularly in light of the preparation and implementation of the Podgorica – European Youth Capital 2028 title.

In the coming period, the aim is to continue exchanging experiences and explore opportunities for cooperation through which good European practices could be adapted to the local context, with the direct involvement of young people and further strengthening of capacities for quality youth work in Podgorica.
