Podgorica is taking its first step towards 2028 – we are officially launching the programme activities of the European Youth Capital 2028 under the slogan “Youth Shape the City”!
With the first activities come concrete opportunities and benefits for young people! More space for their ideas, greater participation in decision-making, opportunities to develop new skills, and the chance to directly influence how Podgorica develops.
💡 The first EYC 2028 activity is the “Youth-Friendly Mobility” Hackathon!
The hackathon will bring together high school students who, with the support of mentors, professors from the University of Montenegro, and representatives of the Capital City, will develop innovative solutions to improve traffic and mobility in Podgorica.
Special focus will be placed on safer mobility for pedestrians, cyclists, and drivers, as well as on improving school zones, intersections, traffic signalling, and other critical points across the city.
The highest-ranked solution will receive an award, but the story does not end there – it will also be officially reviewed by the relevant departments of the Capital City for potential implementation in future development projects.
