The Secretary of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society, Slađana Anđušić, participated in the “Youth for Youth” Forum, organized by the Network for Youth Activism of Montenegro (MOACG).
During the event, Secretary Anđušić emphasized that young people must be consulted and supported.
She also highlighted the importance of the functioning of the Youth Club “Youth Zone”.
“A positive example is the cooperation between the Secretariat and MOACG in managing the Youth Club ‘Youth Zone’, which I am especially proud of and whose results have exceeded all expectations. The ‘Youth Zone’ functions phenomenally – it has become a recognizable space for learning, volunteering, and youth development. That’s why this conference is called ‘Youth for Youth’. We have learned an important lesson: if you make decisions about young people – ask them.”
Referring to the Capital City’s candidacy for the title of European Youth Capital 2028, she stated:
“We are proud that in the past two years, we have brought youth policy into the focus of decision-makers. Our goal is that no email from a young person goes unopened and that everyone receives a reply within 24 hours.”
The panel concluded with a unified message: youth policies must be based on the genuine participation of young people, their priorities (living standards, employment, mobility, quality education), and predictable, operational funding for youth organizations.
“Let’s roll up our sleeves,” was the message from the Forum – addressed both to institutions and decision-makers, as well as to the community that recognizes that “young people create the city.”
