In the premises of the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society, the constitutive session of the Capital City Youth Council was held on Friday, April 3. The Council was established with the aim of improving the position of young people and ensuring their active involvement in decision-making at the local level.
The members of the Council were appointed by the Mayor, Prof. Dr. Saša Mujović, in January this year. At the constitutive session, the leadership was elected and the composition of the Council—consisting of representatives of civil society and local government bodies—was confirmed. Marija Boljević from the NGO “Network for Youth Activism of Montenegro” was elected President of the Capital City Youth Council, while Vučić Filipović from the NGO “Civic Alliance” was elected Deputy President.

The members of the Council are: Danilo Vučinić from the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society, Mina Minić from the Secretariat for Social Welfare, and Teodora Raonić from the NGO “Youth Initiative for Human Rights”. The Secretary of the Capital City Youth Council is Biljana Bošković from the Secretariat for Local Self-Government and Cooperation with Civil Society.
During the session, the Council adopted its Rules of Procedure, thereby creating the conditions for efficient and well-organized work in the upcoming period.
The Youth Council represents an important mechanism for improving the position of young people at the local level, with the task of ensuring their active participation in decision-making processes. Through its work, the Council will focus on representing the interests of youth, initiating and supporting projects, strengthening awareness, and encouraging youth activism and participation in society.
The work of the Council is particularly significant in the context of the Capital City’s candidacy for the title of European Youth Capital 2028, where the Council will play an important role in planning and implementing activities of strategic importance for young people.
